A Michelin-trained pastry chef will be selling glorious creations from a brand-new patisserie on Burford High Street.

Hugo Lovage Patisserie is run by Cindy Kosmala who has worked with top chefs of the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Philip Howard, Matt Abe and Clare Smyth.

She previously worked at London's Soho House, Chez Bruce and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

The patisserie will sell her hand-made baked cheesecake, bavarois, eclairs, cookies, Battenburg and her speciality – meringue towers.

Ms Kosmala, 36, is originally from South Africa and moved to the Cotswolds with her husband Hubert, who is the head chef of the award-winning Swan at Swinbrook.

It has been their dream to open their own business.

“Baking and cakes are about family and this is our own family business,” she said. “We have three young children, Niko 12, Hugo, four, and Elliott who is only 11 months old, and they are all looking forward to getting involved - maybe not Elliott, just yet!"

Ms Kosmala's children are likely to be just as interested as other local kids in the cookie sandwiches she is making which come with a self-decorating kit.

She said: “The adults and the kids will want to try our little meringues that we will be making to eat like popcorn.

"We will be varying the cakes and fridge patisseries seasonally so keep an eye on the shop for different ideas and themes."

She added: “Burford has been incredibly welcoming and it is great to be in such a vibrant Cotswold town."

Alongside Ms Kosmala's incredible creations will be some great healthy salads to take away, created by her husband, Hubert.

The business will also be selling Gin in a Tin, offering the full range of blends and products.

Hugo Lovage at 54 High Street is open 9-5pm every day.
