A MURDER investigation has been dropped after an elderly Oxford woman was found to have died naturally.
A post-mortem examination was today carried out on the body of Megan Brindle, who was found dead at a home in The Link, Risinghurst, on Saturday night.
A 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has now been released without charge.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Hunter said: “A post mortem was carried out by a Home Office pathologist earlier today which concluded the woman died from natural causes.
“The woman’s death has been the subject of a full and thorough investigation and we are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances.
“A 58-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the death has been released without charge.
“A file will now be handed over to the Oxfordshire Coroner’s Office in due course.”
