WANTAGE Nursing Home residents have been getting ready to celebrate the royal wedding by making homemade clothes for the occasion.
The team and residents at Wantage Nursing Home have been showcasing their artistic flair this week, adding finishing touches to their handmade corsages and fascinators.
Ahead of Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle, resident Brenda Fewings said: “I am so looking forward to it – they are a perfect match.
“They don’t come around often and when they do it’s nice to see the nation getting together and celebrating.”
Watching the Saturday, May 19 ceremony on the big screen, residents will enjoy champagne, homemade cakes and warm scones.
Activities assistant Ruska Udas said: “There has been such a buzz in the home. Our residents can’t wait to get dressed up and enjoy the ceremony – it’ll be like we’re all there.
“So many have fond memories of celebrating royal weddings, jubilee’s and even the Queen’s Coronation, so we knew we had to do something really special.”
