THE 'stunning' design of a family home has bagged it the title of Best Individual Home at a national awards.

The house in Boars Hill, fit with a 'swimming lake', was handed the crown in the Local Authority Building Control Awards - a firm that works with housebuilders on building regulations.

The winning Oxford home, built by Khoury Architects - caught the judges eyes with its 'technical excellence and construction skills'.

It is built in the green belt, difficult terrain and a low water table but the judges said: "The result is a stunning family home that utilises the natural gradient of the site."

It was awarded the Best Individual New Home in the region at the awards on Friday, May 25.

It will automatically qualify for the grand finale to be held on November 9.

Khoury architects company secretary Heidi Alden said: “We are delighted with our win as it recognises our ability to combine technical excellence with beautiful design.”
