A CENTURIES-OLD tradition returns to Woodstock on Saturday after it was cancelled last year.
The town’s mock mayor election dates back 230 years as a tongue-in-cheek protest, but it skipped a year as it clashed with Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace.
A mock mayor will be elected at the Black Prince pub on Manor Road, before a procession through Blenheim Park, a dance with the real Woodstock mayor and a ducking of the mock mayor in the River Glyme.
The event starts at 2.30pm and proceeds go to Woodstock youth club and MIND.
