HOMES in several areas of Oxfordshire were temporarily without water this weekend as temperatures soared to 29C.

Residents near Bicester, Wheatley and Chinnor reported low water pressures or no supply last night and this morning, but the affected areas are returning to normal.

A burst pipe in Buckinghamshire and a subsequent issue on the Thames Water network caused the problems.

The company stressed only 'a handful' of properties in the OX25, OX27, OX33 and OX39 postcodes were affected.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We’re really sorry to those who experienced no water or low pressures following a repair on a burst pipe in the nearby area, and supplies are returning to normal.

“We appreciate being without water on a hot day is frustrating, and we worked hard to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
