POLICE are appealing for a woman who may have information about a serious car crash between Witney and Minster Lovell to come forward.

On Wednesday August 1, at around 4.05pm a silver Vauxhall Vectra was involved in a head-on collision with a blue Ford Focus.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a 48-year-old man, and the driver of the Ford, a 61-year-old woman, were both injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

A passenger in the Ford, a 58-year-old woman, also sustained serious injuries and received hospital treatment.

Thames Valley Police has said it now believes the Vauxhall was involved in a minor collision with a blue car, possibly a Fiat Punto, moments earlier at traffic lights near to the WFS Country Shop on Burford Road.

The female driver of the blue car and the driver of the other car both got out and looked at their vehicles, before driving off.

The female driver of the blue car is believed to have pulled into the WFS Country Shop shortly afterwards.

Investigating officer PC Julia Stroud, of the serious collisions investigation unit based at Bicester, said: “Our investigations into the serious collision have now led us to believe that the Vauxhall struck or nudged a blue car, possibly a Fiat Punto, just prior to the head-on collision further up the road.

“I need to try and trace the female driver of this car so I can ascertain what has occurred.

“This was reported to us by another driver, who also came across the serious collision moments later.

“I’d like to add that the driver of the blue car in the minor collision is not in any trouble, but I believe she may have important information to will assist our investigation.

“I know that this driver pulled into the WFS shop near to the traffic lights on Burford Road shortly after she was struck, and would urge her to contact 101, quoting reference number 43180235641.”
