SOFAS and prams were among submerged items hauled out of a small stream in Oxford.
Furniture, shopping trolleys and plastic toys were fished out of Bayswater Brook in Barton, having either been dumped or lost in the water.
In a tweet shared alongside images this afternoon, Oxford City Council wrote: "Carl's crew pulled two sofas, four trolleys, ten footballs, a bizillion plastic bags, two prams and loads of kids' plastic toys."
The brook mainly runs through Barton, as well as parts of Sandhills and Elsfield, but the council did not state exactly when or where the items were pulled out.
According to the council's Barton Area Action Plan, Bayswater Brook is designated as a site of local importance for nature conservation (SLINC).
The plan states that Bayswater Brook 'is in poor condition, particularly at the eastern section close to Barton where hedgerows and woodland are unmanaged'.
All of the items discovered could have been collected by the council for free, rather than dumped in the brook.
We can collect all of the items Carl's volunteer crew 🌳⛏ found in Bayswater Brook for FREE. Call ☎ 01865 249 811 to find out more ♻👍🏾If you're having a clear out, consider donating things in good condition to charity first. If not, give us a call! #OxfordParks💚🏞️ pic.twitter.com/eSPZntYXMx
