A PLAN to allow a football club to stay open as late as 1.30am on Friday and Saturdays will be decided next week.

Abingdon United Football Club, based in Northcourt Road, wants permission to open from 9am until 12.30am from Monday to Thursday and opening times on Fridays, Saturdays and New Year's Eve to run from 9am until 1.30am.

It was given 12-month temporary permission to stay open until 11.30pm in September 2017.

There have been six objections from residents, who say they have been subjected to 'noise and disturbance at night for seven days a week'. Other worries include that it could result in anti-social behaviour.

But Vale of White Horse District Council officers say it does not think it would cause residents living around it 'significant harm'. Councillors will be asked to agree to the new times next Wednesday.
