ONE PERSON was taken to hospital after a crash left a car on its side in a South Oxfordshire village last night.

Firefighters and an ambulance crew attended the incident on Steventon High Street, which happened at 6.16pm.

A woman in her 30s was driving the Ford, which appears to have collided with another car, believed to be outside the Co-op.

One person was taken to hospital as a result of the crash and their injuries are not thought to be serious.

Pictures show the overturned vehicle in the middle of the road, while another vehicle can be seen in the background with damage to its bumper.

Emergency services closed the road and this caused major disruption for drivers, with queues stretching back towards Steventon Hill and cars being turned around.

Neighbours and workers from local businesses could be seen rushing to the aid of the driver after the crash.

Oxford Mail:

Residents were also shown helping at the scene, including what appears to be staff from a nearby restaurant.

The incident caused delays until at least 7.30pm, with one resident stating on Facebook that vehicles were being asked to 'turn around' to avoid the area.

The road was opened later in the evening.
