THICK fog descended on parts of Oxfordshire overnight, prompting a Met Office weather warning.

The forecaster issued a yellow warning for fog this morning, which came into force at 5.45am and was lifted at 10am today.

It has advised that poor visibility could make for 'some dangerous road conditions', and urged drivers to take extra caution.

The warning states: "Light winds and clear skies have allowed frost and areas of thick fog to develop overnight.

"Although not everywhere will be affected, some of this will persist well into the morning rush hour.

"There should be a gradual improvement through the morning as the wind starts to pick up."
