A CUMNOR pub has won an award for culinary excellence a year after being taken on by new owners.
The Bear & Ragged Staff has been given a rosette by AA following a recent anonymous visit by a hotel and restaurant inspector.
Only one in ten establishments are given the accolade which recognises great cooking across an entire meal.
The pub was fully refurbished in March 2018 after it was taken on by Peach Pub Company which also owns the Fishes in North Hinksey.

"We work hard to offer the best pub food, made with the best quality ingredients, with warm, friendly service and it's a point of pride for everyone to ensure our guests have the best experience whenever they visit.
"Since re-opening in March 2018, we have focussed on creating a great pub for the village, where anyone can come for a pint or a plate of something good to eat, and having the quality of our food in particular being recognised by such an important and widely-recognised award is fantastic."
