A MODERN art gallery offering an 'explosion' of colour is gearing up for its first appearance at a prestigious show.

Woodstock-based Dantzig Modern Art Gallery will be making the short trip across town to Blenheim Palace on Thursday for The Cotswolds Art and Antique Fair.

The gallery will bring work from revered artists including Picasso and David Hockney, while a painting produced by Prince Charles himself will also make an appearance.

Dave Davies, CEO and founder of the gallery, revealed the gallery's art would bring something different to the fair.

He said: "We're thrilled to be there. We're a small boutique gallery so to be invited is amazing for us.

"It's very rare for modern art to be there as it tends to be a traditional art show. People have told us we should be there because we offer an explosion of colour."

Dantzig has been in Woodstock for two-and-a-half years and offers a wide range of art, from modern masters to contemporary artists.

This is the eighth year the fair, run by the Cotswolds Art and Antique Dealers Association, has been staged at Blenheim.
