A MAN has been left permanently scarred after he was attacked with a glass in a town centre bar.

A 29-year-old woman from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been released under investigation.

The 30-year-old victim was at AKA bar in Parsons Street, Banbury when he was attacked at around 11.30pm on Saturday, March 16.

Police say the man received a serious wound to his face and was taken to the Horton General Hospital in Banbury and then to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for plastic surgery for his injuries the following day.

He has since been discharged.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Bryan Groves of Force CID based at Banbury police station, said: “As a result of this assault, the victim has been left permanently scarred.

“There were a number of people inside AKA at the time, many of whom would have seen this assault. I would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident.
