COMMUTERS in Oxford are among the most stressed in the UK.

New research from property buyer Good Move found 44 per cent of workers in the city said their journey into work harmed their mental health.

This puts Oxford sixth in the UK alongside Nottingham, with York and London joint top on 51 per cent.

Good Move spoke to 2,000 people from across the country and found 43 per cent in total said their commute negatively impacts their stress levels.

This rises to 73 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds.

People in Bristol are the most relaxed about their commutes, with just 29 per cent feeling any impact on their mental health.

Ross Counsell, director at Good Move, said: “Daily commutes are harming the mental health of Brits all over the country, but many are still prepared to travel in order to have better jobs and homes.

“While everyone has an idea of their dream home or career, it is so important that people get a healthy work-life balance and don’t sacrifice their mental wellbeing.”
