RENOVATIONS to Faringdon Leisure Centre will start next Monday.

The £177,500 investment from Vale of White Horse District Council will see the swimming pool changing area, including cubicles, toilets and showers be improved first.

The sauna and steam room will also be replaced along with new floor and wall tiles and work will end on July 19.

The current poolside changing area will be closed between June 17 and July 19 for the work to take place meanwhile a temporary pool changing area will be created during this time using one of the centre’s two squash courts.

All other facilities will remain open as normal.

Councillor Helen Pighills, Vale of White Horse District Council cabinet member for community services, said: “It’s great news that the facilities are being upgraded at Faringdon so even more people can enjoy the centre for years to come.

“Staff are working hard to ensure it will be open as normal throughout the work – so residents can continue to make the most of the facilities.”
