YOUNG vandals who ripped flowers from a Witney park yesterday have been urged by police 'not to be a stereotype' and to 'take pride' in their town.
A series of tweets via the Thames Valley Police West Oxfordshire account have addressed a group of youths that were seen destroying flowers at The Leys last night.
They said: "To the group of youths that decided that ripping flowers planted at The Leys in Witney is a great way to spend your night.

"This is your town, you live here. You decide if you want it to look nice or look a mess."
They tweet continued: "Your actions decide what kind of town you want to grow up in. Show off to your mates by being different to a stereotype!

"That girl/boy wont fancy you if you make a mess! Take pride in where you hang out."
Police added that officers had replanted the flowers, 'so your younger brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents can enjoy the park this weekend.'
