A PAIR of twins admitted relief was the overriding emotion as they both reached their universities of choice.

Katy and Ben Keedwell picked up their A-Level results at Wood Green School in Witney today and were delighted after getting into Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Warwick University respectively.

Mr Keedwell, who is 10 minutes younger than his sister and will study physics, admitted the pupils' nerves were heightened by waiting for their twin's result.

He said: "I was stressed before I found out, as I was in no way sure I had got in. I didn't want to do well if she didn't, but I'm so excited for her."

The Witney resident achieved A*s in physics, maths and further maths and an A in Art, while Ms Keedwell will study medicine after getting As in maths and biology and a B in Chemistry.

She added: "It's certainly been stressful for the both of us, but it's brilliant that it's paid off."

Another Wood Green pupil, Mary Collingridge, will study law at Warwick after defying health issues to achieve an A* in history, an A in English and a B in psychology.

Witney Gazette:

The Witney resident missed most of her GCSE years due to a serious back operation and then suffered appendicitis in Year 13, just before her exams.

She said: "The whole journey has been difficult, but waiting for the results has been the worst because it's out of your control. I didn't really sleep last night."
