LONGLEAT'S Emma Thynn, Viscountess Weymouth, sensationally survived her first dance off in Sunday's Strictly Come Dancing results show.

On a dramatic evening, Emma and her professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec were unanimously saved by all four judges.

They were up against BBC Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin and his pro-partner Dianne Buswell, one of last year's finalists, who became the third couple to be eliminated from the competition.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood said he had saved Emma and Aljaž because they had "really shone through", had "come to life" and had "gone the extra mile", while Motsi Mabuse said the couple were "more rehearsed, more safe and more on top of it."

Bruno Tonioli said Emma and Aljaž had "made no mistakes, were cleaner and were more on focus."

Even though they survived the dreaded dance-off, the odds on Emma and Aljaž winning the coveted Glitterball trophy have dropped from 10-1 to 50-1.

In Saturday night’s show, Dev and Dianne danced the Cha Cha Cha to ‘Dancing With a Stranger’ by Sam Smith featuring Normani and scored 27 points out of 40.

The 33-year-old model and chef and Aljaž had danced the Jive to ‘Kids in America’ by Kim Wilde, scoring 28 points out of 40.

Their dance was fast and furious, and included a dramatic drop move and catch that left the studio audience gasping in admiration.

According to Aljaž, it was the fastest dance they have done so far, while Emma said the dance was “totally different” to their previous dances, the Cha,Cha,Cha and the Tango, and required muscles that she had “not ever met before”.

Each of the four judges gave the couple seven points, with Motsi Mabuse saying she was “getting stronger and stronger and stronger week by week.”

Motsi added: “Last week, you were more fragile and no feeling but this week you gave me a sweet little 16-year-old and pumping, pumping, pumping.

“Energy was there, speed was there, co-ordination from up and top was there. Your personality was there. You were there. You got it.”

Shirley Ballas told her: “In Week One when you danced the Cha, Cha, Cha I think my score then was a four.

“To come out today and execute that Jive the way you did was definitely an improvement.

“But what was the most impressive was that you trusted that man. He jumped from there on your bones and caught you. You trusted him. Piece of cake. What an improvement.”

Bruno Tonioli said: “What is good about this show is that we see people growing in confidence. Your attitude week by week is completely different. Bright, lively, more youthful, more compact. More finish in everything you do.

“You have started to believe in yourself. You have taken our comments to heart and you have really worked on your core strength and it showed. Those three drops at the end, wow! You could not have done that a few weeks ago.”

Craig Revel Horwood added: “I have seen an improvement. I am rather pleased that we have lost the swan now. It was fast, it was furious and it was pretty accurate.”

Top of the Strictly leaderboard for Week Four were CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and his pro-partner Amy Dowden dancing the Tango to ‘Paradise’ by George Ezra and scoring 38 points out of 40.

Bottom of the leaderboard were soccer pundit and TV presenter Alex Scott and her pro-partner Neil Jones dancing the Tango to ‘Go Your Own Way’ by Fleetwood Mac, but only scoring 23 points out of 40.
