TWO meetings about the future growth of Oxfordshire have been cancelled because of the general election.

The Oxfordshire Growth Board meetings due to be held on November 21 and November 26 have been cancelled because of the ‘purdah’ period in the run up to the election.

This is effectively a ban on all politically biased communication by councils to prevent influencing the election.

The growth board, which is planning how to spend government money to improve local infrastructure, will meet next in January.
