A LEARNER driver was busted by police after being caught behind the wheel with no insurance.

He was driving down Cowley Road when his silver Citreon was flagged to officers as uninsured.

He admitted having no insurance but when police checked his documents, they discovered he only has a provisional driving licence.

To drive with a green licence you must be sitting next to somebody who has been driving with a full licence for at least three years, and have some learner plates tacked to the car.

But he was alone and the car had no L plates on it.

Police seized the car and the driver was reported.
