A BOSS at Thames Valley Police is facing the head of the force at a misconduct hearing this week.

Chief inspector Julian Collinson is accused of breaking the rules between March 2017 and September 2018 – and the allegations are so serious that if he is found guilty it will be gross misconduct and he could lose his job.

It is alleged that between March 2017 and September 2018 Mr Collinson breached the standards of professional behaviour by failing to disclose a personal relationship with a police officer, called Officer X.

He is also accused of being inappropriately involved in a job application process in May 2018 in which Officer X was the applicant.

Mr Collinson, who is based in Aylesbury, also allegedly discussed a police constable who was subject to a misconduct hearing in potentially prejudicial terms with the chair of that meeting, without disclosing a conflict of interest in August 2017.

The fourth accusation is that he inappropriately disclosed confidential information from a local Organised Crime Group meeting to other police officers in June 2018.

The hearing is taking place at TVP's HQ in Kidlington in front of John Bassett, and a decision will be made by December 20.
