Wrong plans led to flood
The use of the wrong plans was blamed for causing a flood that threatened to bring Oxford to halt on October 26, 1989.
Dozens of houses in Earl Street and Duke Street, off Botley Road, were flooded and businesses had to close down when Thames Water contractors cut through a trunk main.
Insurance assessors working for Thames Water visited householders to discuss compensation.
A Thames Water spokesman said: "Householders should approach their own insurance companies."
