AN AFTER school club is today raising money for the Australia bushfires, and the people and animals affected.

Georgia Gill, acting deputy manager at Early World in Eynsham, said: “We have two children, a brother and sister, who attend and their grandparents live in Australia.

“The grandparents’ shed caught fire and this prompted the kids to talk about it with the other children.

“They told the other kids what had happened and everyone decided to do a fundraiser.

“They made posters to show the other children and this encouraged the other kids to help Australia and the animals that are being affected by the fires.

“We’ll be doing a sausage sizzle and everything will be Australia themed.

“Eynsham Primary School have kindly let us use their school hall and we’ll be making our own lemonade and cupcakes.

“The children have also been busy making friendship bracelets which they’ll be selling.”

Forty children have been involved in the fundraiser, with 15 taking part today.

The fundraiser will last between 3-5pm.
