THREE new coronavirus research projects have been funded in Oxford.
One will look at the potential for preventing patients deteriorating by using a common antibiotic drug called Azithromycin, another understanding how the virus interacts with chronic diseases, and the third will focus on the longer-term effects of infection on organs through imaging.

The NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre has allocated cash to the studies.
Director Professor Helen McShane, said: "The researchers we support are already at the forefront of national efforts to find a vaccine for Covid-19, and effective treatments for patients - both in hospitals and general practice - who have contracted the virus."
