AN ARMY major is coordinating military support at the London Ambulance Service (LAS) NHS Trust.

James Davis, from Hook Norton, is also a land manager for housebuilder Visitry Group, and is now volunteering at LAS.

Mr Davis, who served in the Army for 10 years , and is volunteering while furloughed from his day job, said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to help during this extraordinary time.

“My role is to enable support from the military to the London Ambulance Service where appropriate, which can vary day to day with logistics.

“I remain ready, responsive and resilient and feel privileged to work alongside hardworking, lifesaving professionals.”

Mr Davis attends daily LAS progress meetings and reports to the Army’s London District HQ.

His last role in the Army was in the Basing team, which provides infrastructure for Army units.

He has been a reservist since 2018.
