NO new coronavirus deaths have been reported in Oxfordshire's hospitals for four days.

Figures released by NHS England today have shown that 116 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) died as of yesterday.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,866.

The patients who died were aged between 50 and 100 years old.

One of the 116 patients, who was aged 71, had no known underlying health condition.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Banbury's Horton General Hospital, has recorded 177 virus deaths.

The most recent was a single death announced on Friday.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has reported 22 deaths.

Across the whole of the UK, the total number of deaths from Covid 19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, stands at 37,048.

This is out of a total of 265,227 confirmed cases overall in the country.

Across the globe there have now been 5,495,061 confirmed cases of Covid 19.

Out of these confirmed cases there has been a total of 346,232 deaths.

Public Health England's figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 5pm the previous day.
