A WOMAN who had denied a string of violent offences - and having a hypodermic needle when approached by officers - has pleaded guilty at court.

At a hearing held last month Weronika Wojt pleaded not guilty to seven counts.

Those offences were all alleged to have taken place on December 11 last year in Oxford.

The 27-year-old of Weyland Road, Headington Quarry, Oxford was charged with three counts of assault and one of possession of an offensive weapon - a hypodermic needle.

Prosecutors also claimed that she threatened two police officers with a needle.

It was further claimed that Wojt failed to provide a specimen of blood for analysis when required and suspected of having driven a vehicle.

At Oxford Crown Court today she appeared again but after a change of heart she pleaded guilty to five of the offences.

Wojt admitted one count of assault by beating as well as two counts of assaulting an emergency worker - police constables.

She also admitted another count of having an article with a blade or point - the hypodermic needle in a syringe, as well a failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

The assault on a woman took place at Tesco Filling Station, Oxford Retail Park, and the assaults on police took place at Marston Ferry Road, Oxford.

Prosecutor Edward Culver said that those pleas were 'acceptable' to the Crown Prosecution Service, and no future trial would be sought on the remaining counts.

Presiding Judge Maria Lamb adjourned sentencing due to insufficient court time.

Wojt will appear again for her sentencing at the same court on Monday morning.

She was remanded in custody in the meantime.
