POLICE are hoping two walkers might be able to help them piece together what happened during a knife fight in the middle of the afternoon.

On Thursday, at around 1.50pm, a teenage boy and a man, in his forties, got involved in an 'altercation' with a group of four men with knives at The Rydes, Bodicote.

The man was left with an arm injury and was rushed to hospital, he has now been sent home.

A phone was also stolen during the incident.

Now police are looking for two people who walked by seconds before.

PC Kelly Williams, based at Banbury Station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any information about the incident to please come forward.

“I believe there were two people walking by just seconds before the assault happened, therefore I would urge these individuals to get in touch as you may have information that could assist with the investigation."

At the time, a 22-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent, common assault, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and theft from the person of another.

A 20-year-old man from Banbury was also arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a controlled drug of class B.

A 16-year-old boy from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, theft and assault by beating.

Another 16-year-old boy from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, theft, common assault, possession of a controlled drug of class A and possession of a controlled drug of class B.

All four have been released on bail.
