A MEMORIAL bench was vandalised as ‘RIP’ was burnt into it.
Vandals emblazoned the arm of the bench at Brize Norton cemetery earlier this week, with what appeared to be cigarette burns.
The bench is dedicated to Hazel Dowsett, who served in the Ministry of Defence for over 30 years.
She sadly passed away in September 2017, after battling Parkinson’s disease, which confined her to a wheelchair.
The bench has since been cleaned up, using toothpaste and bicarbonate of soda.
