LULU and Alexander Armstrong were among 100 members of the Dragon School community who took part in a virtual recording of a song.

The school’s music department coordinated the recording and filming of Reach for the Sun, which also featured Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood and former student Sebastian Croft, star of the Horrible Histories movie.

Both Mr Armstrong, host of popular BBC quiz show Pointless, and Mr Greenwood have children at the school, while 1960s icon Lulu is a grandparent to children at the school.

William Morris, director of music at the Dragon, said: “Music is a thriving department at the Dragon and we typically run 60 music groups each week.

“The sudden closure of the school due to the pandemic did not mean that children stopped making music.

“700 individual instrumental lessons have been delivered each week remotely and it has been wonderful to see the community project embraced by the children and their families.”

The school welcomed back all year groups for time with friends and teachers before the end of term, while keeping boarding students involved through virtual lessons and assemblies.
