DENBIGHSHIRE families can still give their children a head start in learning to read.
Bookstart Order and Collect allows families to order and collect a free Bookstart pack for their child, from their local library in Denbighshire.
Every child in Wales is entitled to two special Bookstart packs before the age of three, which are normally given to families by their health visitor. However, with many health visitors now offering different services to before, selected libraries will be providing Bookstart packs to families alongside their other order and collect services.
Families can phone their local library to book an appointment to collect their pack or contact Denbighshire Bookstart team via their Facebook page.
They will also be invited to join their child as a library member and to borrow books to share.
A spo9kesperson for the council said: "Reading with children from a very early age helps to give them the best possible start in life.
"It's a time for closeness, laughing and talking together and will help your child become a lifelong reader."
Further details are available on the 'Libraries' section of the council's website at denbighshire.gov.uk.
