A MAN who was refused permission to build an extension has appealed against Oxford City Council’s decision.
Nazrul Islam wanted to demolish a ground floor rear extension to his home in Cornwallis Road, Oxford, and build a part single, part two-storey rear extension.
But the council said it would be ‘an overly bulky addition’ which ‘would form an incongruous and unacceptable relationship with...the original house and the terrace in which it sits’.

Mr Islam has now appealed against that decision to the Planning Inspectorate.
No one can make any new comments on the plans, however people can ask to have their comments on the original planning application withdrawn.
Anyone wishing to do so must make a request to the Planning Inspectorate in writing, quoting the appeal reference APP/G3110/D/20/3253140 within four weeks of appeal start date (August 3).
Requests can be sent by email to West1@planninginspectorate.gov.uk.
The Planning Inspectorate aims to issue responses to all appeals within eight weeks.
