A CARE home has scooped an award for its architecture and interior design.

Millers Grange in Witney won the award for ‘Best for Architecture, Interior Design or Communal Spaces’ at the Care Home Awards, which were held virtually last week.

The Curbridge Road care home impressed judges with its contemporary interior, and exterior which uses local Cotswold stone.

The home, run by Care UK, also features a cafe, hair salon and cinema room.

Alison Parry, home manager, said: “The home has been built to the very highest standards, and we are incredibly proud of the environment we have created since we first opened our doors last year.

“Everything at Millers Grange has been designed to ensure residents live happy and fulfilled lives.

“Our dementia suite is particularly special and it’s wonderful for our home to be recognised with this award.”

Witney Gazette:

The dementia suite is one of four suites within the home, and has special lighting and colour schemes, designed with residents in mind.

It also features a ‘Tovertafel’, or magic table, which uses sensor and projection technology to enable residents to play fun, interactive games, ranging from sweeping leaves to popping bubbles or catching fish.

At the end of each corridor in the suite are destination points, which include an office space, laundry area, and sewing area, which residents can access at any time.

The award also highlighted the cafe, Maltings, which provides a social space within the home.

Millers Grange provides nursing and residential care, short-term respite care and dementia care.
