FIREFIGHTERS had to call in a chainsaw crew to deal with a tree which was in a 'dangerous condition' and poised to collapse on a home.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said that crews from Abingdon and a specialist chainsaw team from Kidlington were called to the tree in a 'dangerous condition' last night in Tubney.
The tree had partly split and broken in the afternoon and after clearance work had been done by others it was noticed that the tree was continuing to split.
Crews assessed the situation, and supported the owners of the adjacent property to leave whilst it was handed over to the landowners who arranged emergency tree surgery to stop it collapsing onto the property.
