CORONAVIRUS cases have continued to rise across Oxfordshire with more than 120 new cases in a day.
According to Public Health England, as of 9am, these are the number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours;
- Oxford - 28
- Oxfordshire - 124
- UK - 19,724
The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started;
- Oxford - 1,628
- Oxfordshire - 5,061
- UK - 654,644
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
Across the UK a further 137 people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.
It takes the confirmed UK death toll to 43, 155.
There have also been 343 people whose death certificate mentioned Covid-19 as one of the causes, registered in the week ending Friday, October 2, the most recent figures available.

Another 680 people have been admitted to hospital with coronavirus, with 37 of these in the South East.
The region currently has 221 patients in hospital with the virus and 10 are in serious enough condition to need ventilation.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe, has not registered a Covid-19 death since July.
Globally, there have now been more than 38 million confirmed cases of Covid-19.
The death toll is more than a million, with the highest number of deaths in the US which has recorded 215,000.
