THE DEPUTY police and crime commissioner has been the subject of fresh complaints over his campaign.

Matthew Barber, who wants to stand for Anthony Stansfeld’s role as Thames Valley's PCC, was accused of breaking impartiality rules after officers appeared in a video marked with his Conservative campaign branding, according to the BBC.

The content of the video both starts and ends with messages advertising his campaign.

Earlier this year Mr Barber was also criticised for a 'misleading' monthly newsletter, which one councillor argued was disguised as an official email from the police and crime commissioner’s office but in fact was just part of his election campaign.

Mr Barber and Thames Valley Police both denied any wrongdoing in the latest row of controversy.
