FOUR men who were arrested after a ‘particularly violent’ attack near a train station have been released on police bail.

At around 9.15pm on Sunday, a man in his 30s was left with a broken arm, cuts and bruising after he was assaulted on Main Road, Long Hanborough near to the junction with Regent Drive.

He was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.

A 22-year-old man from Witney and three other men aged 18, 25 and 26, all from Oxford, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They have now been bailed.

Witnesses said police officers had put up blue tents by the station on Monday morning. 

Appealing for witnesses, Detective Sergeant Rob Platt, of Banbury Police Station said: “This was a particularly violent incident, during which the victim has sustained injuries requiring hospital admission.

“Officers have made four arrests in connection with this incident, however, we are appealing for anyone in the local area that might have information to come forward.”
