This means that some of the deaths that were first recorded in the latest period may actually have taken place days earlier.

NHS England figures show 480 people had died in hospital at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Sunday – an increase of one compared to Friday, when there were 479.

It means there have been six deaths in the past week, up from three the previous week.

The UK has recorded a further 65 Covid-related deaths and 4,712 new cases, Public Health England confirmed.
