A GRAPHIC artist who has previously worked for the likes of Coca-Cola and Nike has created his third lockdown mural in Oxfordshire.

Luke Embden, from Chipping Norton, has come up with his latest mural, in his hometown.

He had previously worked on a piece from inside the former Beales department store in Chipping Norton, followed by one in George Street, Oxford.

His latest creation is based at the library in Chipping Norton.

Mr Embden said: “With lockdown easing and spring in the air, and still being holed up in my hometown of Chipping Norton, I thought that it was time to add another splash of colour to another window in the town centre.

“I thought before I leave for Germany, there’s time for one more mural.

“The library being an educational hub for many local children and adults, I spotted the window on my many walks around the town, and thought that this is a perfect canvas to add a splash of colour and give the space a new lease of life.

“I spoke with the library manager and discussed creating a word-based mural, focussing on the different categories that you’d fine inside the library.

“This was then freehand doodled on the glass over the course of an afternoon.”

The library, like all others across the country, is able to reopen on April 12 when lockdown restrictions ease again.

Mr Embden, who is usually based in Berlin and London, completed the Beales mural in June, following that up with the George Street design in September.
