Author Susie Stead, whose book Stephen From The Inside Out won the Impress Prize for new writers, visited Blackwell's for a book signing on Sunday.
She was joined by her mentor and multiple award-winning local author and poet, Kate Clanchy MBE.
The book is the true story of how Ms Stead, while trying to help a local man with complex psychological needs, ended up in an unorthodox friendship and found herself falling into his story and, with his permission, charting his remarkable and difficult life.
Ms Stead said: “The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this week is how nature supports our mental health. Stephen loved nature."
Signed copies of the book are now available at Blackwell's in Broad Street.
