EDDIE Pepperell’s run of top-50 finishes ended as he missed the cut at the BMW International Open.
The Abingdon golfer was unable to build on a promising start in Munich as he shot a three-over par 75 today to drop back to level-par for the tournament.
It saw Pepperell fall two shots short of reaching the weekend, the first time he has failed to do so since April.
The Frilford Heath member began the day three-under par and things were looking up when he birdied the par-three second.
But he needed seven shots at the par-five sixth, which started a costly run of holes.
A par at the seventh was followed by three successive bogeys either side of the turn, as Pepperell fell back to one-over par for the event.
The 30-year-old seemed to get back on track with a birdie at the 11th, but he dropped a shot at both of the next two holes.
It already looked unlikely Pepperell would make the cut, but he at least finished his round strongly.
Birdies at the 15th and the 18th moved him back to level-par for the tournament, but it was not enough.
The World No 233 had made the cut at his previous four events.
