The historic Witney Feast is set for a spectacular return to The Leys after being cancelled by the pandemic last year.

Along with traditional thrill-inducing rides such as the waltzer and dodgems there will be attractions like the Wild Mouse rollercoaster and a family friendly smaller version – the Dragon Coaster.

Or you can ride aboard the Star Flyer 200 feet up in the air, or wander through the biggest fun house in Europe at four storeys high.

Other white-knuckle rides, many of which are exclusive to Witney, will include Star Flyer, Space, Superstar, Extreme, Jumping Frogs, Dominator and Stargate.

Witney Town Council said it has been holding meetings and conversations over the past few months and a huge amount of work from both the organisers and the council has gone into making the three-day event possible amid post-pandemic regulations.

The Feast, which is nearly 800 years old, will take place on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th September, starting with the traditional Golden Gallopers evening service conducted by St Mary's Church from the carousel on Sunday 12th.

The fair at the Feast is the largest in the town and one of the biggest in the county and its location on the Leys means it can feature larger rides.

To find out more, tune in to Windrush Radio at 11am on Sunday 12th to hear Emily Wilson, from Bob Wilson’s Funfairs which has managed the fair for over 70 years, her daughter-in law and two granddaughters explain all you need to know.
