An Oxfordshire housebuilder will continue to offer help to Armed Forces families to buy a home.

David Wilson Homes has announced that it will be extending its 5 per cent deposit contribution for current members and recent retirees from the Armed Forces.

The firm started the scheme on the 75th anniversary of VE Day and it was initially due to finish in the summer 2021.

However, a recent decision was made to extend it for the foreseeable future.

The scheme works by offering Armed Forces a 5 per cent deposit contribution up to £15,000.

For example, if a buyer is interested in a home costing £200,000, they would qualify for a contribution of £10,000.

Dominic Harman, managing director of David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We want to continue to support Armed Forces personnel and give them the same opportunity, so we are happily extending this offer.”

The homebuilder has a long-standing partnership with Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), supporting the charity in confronting the challenges of veteran homelessness. The partnership delivers new homes, mental health support and jobs for ex Armed Forces personnel.

The firm is currently building homes at Kingfisher Meadows in Witney, The Pavilions in Bodicote and Hemins Place at Kingsmere in Bicester.
