Flight Sergeant Jane Corban has won an award for doing the most over the past year to enhance the efficiency of RAF Brize Norton.

FS Corban, who is based in Community Support, received the Coachmaker/RAF Brize Norton Person of the Year Award 2021 at a ceremony in London.

She has continued to support personnel through deployments, community outreach and wellbeing activities both on and off the station.

During the Covid effort she managed a team who operated seven days a week, providing meals, groceries and medication. She offered welfare support by calling all personnel in isolation, at one point in excess of 900 people, including families and personnel living on the base, offering entertainment ideas, including virtual coffee mornings and competitions whilst focusing on mental health support.

Flight Sergeant Jane Corban said: "I am honoured and humbled to have been nominated and chosen to receive this award. It was very much a team effort from many areas at RAF Brize Norton and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone who helped out during this period to help make the lives of anyone who was alone and isolated during the lockdown period that little bit more bearable."
