A boy has been sentenced for drugs offences in Witney.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, namely  – cannabis and ketamine.

He was sentenced to a nine-month youth referral order, forfeiture and destruction of drugs and costs and surcharge of £107 at Oxford Magistrates Court on March 30.

The sentencing relates to an incident on March 7 last year, where the boy made off from a marked police car.

When tracked down by officers, the boy was found with a quantity of cash and a burner phone and was arrested.

A section 18.5 search of the boy’s address was conducted and officers found cannabis, wraps of ketamine, scales, deal bags, plastic wraps, a quantity of cash and mobile phones in his bedroom.

Investigating officer PC Sarah Finch based at Witney police station, said: “This is the result of hard work and we will continue to work hard to bring offenders to justice as Thames Valley Police will not tolerate drug-dealing.
