FIREFIGHTERS in Chipping Norton had a busy bank holiday, with four call outs, including a car in a river and a chimney fire.

On Saturday night at 9.05pm, a crew from the Chipping Norton station attended a chimney fire, off West Street.

Debris had caused the fire to flare and fill the front room with smoke.

On bank holiday Monday, crews responded to reports of a road traffic collision in Swerford, where a car had ended up in a river.

On arrival, firefighters were told by Thames Valley Police that everyone in the car had safely got out.

Later on in the afternoon, the station attended a call to an alarm sounding in a block of flats in Nine Acres Close, Charlbury.

The alarm had gone off due to smoke from burnt cooking.
