Popular Newbridge pub the Rose Revived is due to close on Sunday May 8 ahead of a major refurbishment.

A six-figure sum will be spent on overhauling the pub which will become part of the Chef & Brewer group of country pubs.

The riverside pub, which is popular with walkers along the Thames, will be fully revamped inside and in the bar area, and an extension built on to its already large outdoor seating area.

A new menu will include weekly specials as well as a separate menu for the outdoor kitchen which will serve throughout the spring and summer.

General manager Craig Rose said: “We want to make sure that we keep some of our original charm, while expanding our already large outdoor area just in time for the warmer months, plus offering a brand-new menu too.

"The pub is a stunning asset to the village, and we’re looking forward to showing it off when we reopen.”

The pub will be back in business on Thursday June 9.

It is now looking to expand its team as a result of the refurbishment.

Vacancies include chef, front of house and housekeeping roles and there will be a mixture of full time, part time and weekends-only available.
