A man has been punished by an Oxford court following an assault at Oxford Railway Station.

Mohammed Afzal, of Chillingworth Crescent in Oxford, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court on May 11.

The court found that on June 5 2021 Afzal assaulted his victim at the station, causing him actual bodily harm.

A community order was made for the 24-year old.

This order requires that he must attend appointments with the responsible officer and participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 5 days.

Afzal is also required to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He was made to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £85.
