Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service reported: “The incident was what we call a ‘make pumps six’, which means that the initial crews who first arrived decided that six fire engines would be needed to deal with the incident.

“The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it had spread rapidly, involving approximately 35 acres of stubble, cut crop and hedgerows.

“Luckily, quick intervention from crews saved a barn and stopped the fire from affecting a nearby railway.”
